I painted this specifically for the 2020 Black & White Show at the Eccles Art Center. It's based on a concrete picnic bench at Swan Dam on Idaho's Snake River. On that bench I imagined two figures like the figures in 2018's "Simple Exchanges", which is also monochromatic watercolor. In that case sepia, in this case lamp black. We may, over time, see an unforeseen series emerge from these first two.
